WorldRamenGuide is an independent editorial ramen-travel project. This policy explains what information may be processed when you use the site and the choices available to you.
Information we process
The site may receive basic technical request data needed for security and delivery, such as IP address, device and browser information, requested page, time and error logs. We store your cookie and accessibility choices on your device. If you contact us, we process the information you choose to provide.
If you join the newsletter, we store your email address, language, signup source, the wording and version of the consent you accepted, and the time of consent. We do not add an address when the consent box is not actively selected.
Purposes and legal bases
- Site delivery and security: legitimate interests and performance of the service you request.
- Contact enquiries: we use the details you submit to handle and reply to your request. Sending an enquiry does not subscribe you to marketing.
- Newsletter and promotional email: your separate, affirmative consent. You may withdraw it at any time.
- Accessibility and consent preferences: necessary local storage and your requested settings.
- Analytics: consent, only after activation and opt-in.
- Affiliate measurement and marketing: consent where required. Sponsored links are labelled.
Sharing and international processing
Hosting, security, analytics and commerce providers may process limited data on our behalf or under their own policies. Google Maps, Kakao Map, Shopify, Printify and marketplace links are third-party services; opening them may allow those providers to process data. We do not sell personal information.
Consent records and retention
For newsletter subscriptions and contact enquiries, we may keep the wording and version of the notice accepted and the date of acceptance so we can demonstrate your choice. Contact enquiries are retained only as long as reasonably needed to respond, manage the relationship, meet legal obligations or resolve disputes. Newsletter records remain until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, subject to a minimal suppression record where needed to respect your opt-out.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or portability. You may withdraw newsletter consent at any time without affecting processing that occurred before withdrawal. Every marketing email must provide a clear opt-out method. We do not make consent to marketing a condition of sending a contact enquiry.
